THE LOST PODCASTS!!! March 20th Thru April 24th
Well, just doing maintenance and catching up with the podcasts of the shows that we did following the Chilly B Tribute show. I was totally bummed out and out of it following Chilly's passing and never did find the time or strength to list these podcasts, even though the shows were uploaded.
In truth, I had grown weary of my end of the format, and had indeed found that playing most of the Nu Electro had helped to put me in a rut creatively. I was almost relieved to have the excuse to cancel the shows after Dogtrane ruptured his Achilles Tendon.
We will be back Saturday the 24th of July with all new shows and I will be going back to the original format of playing ALL kinds of DOPE music for my segment! Expect PLENTY of Funk and Jazz, but there will still be some Electro as well from time to time along with plenty of other stuff! As long as it's DOPE!
Here you go. No playlists, sorry!
ENJOY!

Good to have you back guys. You can only play what you feel and what gives you enjoyment. Playing anything else just grows into resentment and is non-motivational. If Nu Electro isn't your thing then there's no need to apologise. Plenty of other shows cover that base.

Jam-On The Groove - Saturday, July 24th, 2010
July 24th Podcast
Well, this was our first week back and we set things off with a bang! Dogtrane started us off with an hour long hodgepodge of Funk, Soul, Break Beats, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Disco and everything in between like only he does! A mash-up masterpiece, live and direct!
I then followed with my 1 hour set in the new, back-to-original format. Jazz, Funk, Soul and Disco were on the menu today, with just a touch of Hip-Hop and Drum & Bass! Here's the playlist for my set:
Cesar Mariano - "Fabrica"
Stevie Wonder - "Boogie On Reggae Woman"
The Headhunters - "Watch Your Back"
Pharoah Sanders - "Astral Traveling"
Deodato - "Whistle Bump"
Lonnie Liston Smith - "A Chance For Peace"
Donald Byrd - "Stepping Into Tomorrow"
4hero - "Blank Cells"
Patti Austin - "The Look Of Love"
Rufus Feat. Chaka Khan - "Stop On By"
Johnny Hammond - "Los Conquistadores Chocolates"
George Duke - "I Want You For Myself"
Then, Dogtrane added a bonus hour of mostly Disco with some Break Beats flavoring. Fun baby!
ENJOY!

p.s. - I will attempt to post the podcast every Saturday 1 week after the show airs from now on. In this way I only have to deal with the show on Saturdays, as things are getting more and more hectic.

Jam-On The Groove - Saturday, August 21st, 2010
August 21st Podcast
Dogtrane took us on a mellow, jazzy journey today. I guess he's been vibin' with his pops a bit too much lately, LOL. Quite a unique set from him, with such varied artists as Heatwave and Herbie Hancock, Bob James and Chuck Mangione, and even a drop of Elton John! Then he touches it all off with some Disco. Astonishing!
I kept his vibe going by starting off with Disco but quickly took a Funk turn, with the prerequisite jazzy feel of course! Oh, and I topped it all off with the brand new Newcleus track which features the legendary Donald D of the B-Boys! Here's my playlist:
Salsoul Orchestra - "Runaway"
The Main Ingredient - "Happiness Is Just Around The Bend"
Donald Fagen - "Mary Shut The Garden Door"
Earth, Wind & Fire - "Can't Hide Love"
Jazzanova - "Another New Day"
John Tropea - "Tambourine"
George Duke - "Floop De Loop"
Brand New Heavies - "Never Stop"
Sonic Generation - "Funky Solution"
The Headhunters - "God Make Me Funky"
Newcleus Feat. The B-Boys - "We Devolve"
ENJOY!

August 28th Podcast
Dogtrane sets things off with a Jackson 5 mash-up, but then morphs into a funky, hard-hitting excursion of House music. After making sure that our bodies are thoroughly jacked, he then finishes things off with a flourish of Prince. Nice set!
I followed with a nice eclectic blend that touched all kinds of aural sensations. A little Funk, a little Jazz, a little Drum & Bass, a little Electro, a LOT of Dopeness! Here's my playlist:
Art Of Noise - "Moments In Love (Slowjam Mix)"
Ramsey Lewis - "Sun Goddess"
Zero 7 - "Warm Sound"
Subject 13 - "Faith"
Pat Metheny - "The Girls Next Door"
Sly & The Family Stone - "Family Affair"
The Blackbyrds - "Blackbyrds' Theme"
Chico Hamilton - "The Morning Side Of Love"
Hassan, Umar Bin And Abiodun Oyewole With Pharoah Sanders - "This Is Madness"
Mandrill - "Mandrill"
Phoebe Snow - "New York Times"
Charles Earland - "Organyk Groove
ENJOY!
